The main question is what is the level of technical maturity of your innovative product, for which you would like to obtain the funding for further development. The next question is whether you are developing the product on your own or in a consortium with partners (domestic, foreign), and whether your product has a breakthrough potential.
Technology Readiness Levels (TRL):
Ministries in Slovenia issue various funding calls for new product development, which cover labour costs, outsourcing costs, fixed costs and investments. We monitor public call announcements and publications for companies. The content and implementation of calls may vary in terms of the conditions for application, the level of co-financing and eligible costs (manufacturing companies, service companies – tourism, development of border areas, wood industry, etc.).
The programme is open to applications from consortia with a minimum of three partners (legal entities) from at least three different countries. Grants of up to EUR 3 million (open call) and EUR 4 million (challenges) are available. Funding is provided for developing a product up to TRL 1–4.
The amount of funding available is EUR 343 million. The funding rate is up to 100%.
The programme is open to single applicants (SMEs, spin-offs, start-ups, research organisations, universities) or small consortia (two partners) or consortia of three to five different independent legal entities incorporated in at least three different eligible member states.
Grants of up to EUR 2.5 million are available. Funding is provided for developing a product up to TRL 4–5. You must validate and demonstrate your product in application-relevant environment.
The amount of funding available for 2023 is EUR 128.36 million. The funding rate is up to 100%.
The programme is open to applications from individual start-ups and SMEs (including spin-outs), companies intending to set up a start-up/SME and, in exceptional cases, SMEs with fewer than 499 employees. Grants of up to EUR 2.5 million are available for the development of a new product, which must be at TRL 5/6 at the time of application and at TRL 8 on the completion of development.
The amount of funds available for 2023 is EUR 1135.24 million. The funding rate is up to 70%.
The EIC Accelerator programme also provides capital investments of EUR 0.5 to 15 million for the production of a new product and market entry (investments in technological equipment and buildings).
